Mood: failure. (In terms of memorizing and taking tests, anyways.)

Now to arrange to go in and talk to sensei again.

Shuddap, I don't want comments on how I might not be a failure. Leave me alone, unless you've got something constructive to say, else expect much dark/annoyed/hatred energy aimed your way. I've already seen/been told how I'm not failure by several of my other selves, and it doesn't change anything.

A new virus targeting Mac OS X is not expected to cause much trouble. But malcode experts said it should serve as a warning to those using alternatives to Microsoft that their machines are not attack-proof.

"I don't see this particular virus as much of a threat, but I worry about the functionality of it," said Mikko Hypponen, director of antivirus research for Finnish antivirus firm F-Secure Corp. "It shows there's a lot of activity in the underground hacking community to find ways to attack Macintosh systems."

The virus, known as Opener or Renopo, attempts to turn off the Mac OS X firewall and other security software. It will download and install hacker tools for password-sniffing and cracking, make key system directories world-writeable and create an admin-level user for later system abuse, according to Lynnfield, Mass.-based antivirus firm Sophos. It also turns off accounting and logging functions to help hide its presence, the company said....

::sighs:: Fuck you, PeeCee people. Go back to your shitty windows and leave me alone.

(Yeah, I know I just pissed off at least one person. Well, atm, I don't give a flying fuck. And comments complaining about that statement can go roast themselves in hell.)

[edit] Yes, I have told window users to come over. And in the slightest way, it's partially my own fault.

iPod... gets even better.

First, the special edition version, in black, with a red wheel. Actually looks pretty cool and unique. http://www.apple.com/ipod/u2/

And I was wandering across the site, hunting the iTunes update (4.7, I believe?) when I saw the image of an iPod with color photos, and was like, what the fuck? Color? And yes, indeed, they gave the iPod a COLOR SCREEN. http://www.apple.com/ipodphoto/ Not to mention the largest iPod is now 60GB. O.o for $600. Damn ^^;;;

But, oh my god. What's next? Movies? You could put a movie on that thing. Hell, you could leave it uncompressed, and save on power (no decoding)

No new games, alas. Apple seriously needs new games. Or open the iPod source! Oh, that'd rock so much! ([Edit] Note: there's already a LinuxOS for the iPod. Yepyep. It's for the cautious only, but there's not that much there, last time I checked (early this summer). But now they'll have so much more to work with... oh yeah, so much more.)

(yeah, this might be old news for those of you that follow apple news, but I don't, so forgive my enthusiasm.)

Anyhow, going back to work now~

[edit|Hmm, gams is a word...? o.O]

Dude, it just hit me. It'd be so damn cool to use your iPod to give a presentation! Imagine that......

Down in the comp lab, sending files home~ There's 11 GB free, but I can only really fill up another 5-6 GB. Wouldn't be hard at all, just time consuming. I've uploaded around 2 GB already in the past two+ hours.

While Transmit (the FTP/SFTP program I'm using to upload stuff home) displays an average of 200-250 KB/s up, I appear to be getting around twice that? Mmm, then again, I'm not sure when exactly I started.

I've transfered a total of 2.8 GB at this workstation.

Mmm... mp3's hm? Yeah, I'll post soon. People (Not family, thank you) would be kind to remind me. I'm not going to do it now, because chem is going well, and this is only meant to be a short break. Looks like I'll be able to finish chem stuff before midnight.
