WTF...? COMPROMISED?!?

A message just popped up stating:

"The wireless network appears to have been compromised and will be disabled for about a minute."

The trigger? Connecting to my PC over the local LAN, secured by WPA. Using a cheap TrendNET router, but still.. WPA should be secure enough. I thought.

[append]
Looks ok. Damned odd message though - I was unable to get a screenshot - the screenshot commands didn't work. However, the message can be found in the file "Localizable.strings" in the
"ClientController.bundle/Contents/Resources/English.lproj" folder under the
"/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Versions/A/Resources" folder:
"wpaIsFailureMIC" = "The wireless network appears to have been compromised and will be disabled for about a minute.";
"wpaIsReplayAttack" = "The wireless network appears to have been compromised and will be disabled for about a minute.";

A moderator of the macosxhints forum stated, "This happens when a mounted drive disappears. E.g., the remote machine is rebooted."

The latter is possible, as the reason...

And... I think I might have damaged my hard drive earlier when my iBook slipped off the PC... Whoops.

Hmmm, yeah, that's bad.

I'm getting read errors in more places than I like.

I ran TechTool Pro. And the surface scan reported about 40 bad blocks halfway through.

Apparently, Retrospect will back up files and give you a error log. Alternatively, dd will do the same, but quietly? I don't know. Downloading a demo of Retrospect. Am praying that read errors aren't in too many important places.

I wonder how many are new... 'cause I know I had some bad blocks previously, but I don't recall if I backed / wiped the disk or not, or if I put it off until I finished the LiveJournal stuff (which... I haven't done anything for lately, bother..)

Now and Then, Here and There

I never finished watching the series, but since selphish uploaded it, I figured why not, I'd try finishing it again. I think I remember the reason why I stopped watching - there was no WMV3 support for mac back then. And there still isn't. XP

But.. yeah. The animation style is old - pre DBZ/SM, I think. The series is well worth watching, I think. 13 episodes, so it's not too long, although it is slower than most things out today.

Eh, there's so much in the series, as possible thought/discussion material. Such as, the reason to live, reasons to kill... hope... the mindset of soldiers... I don't know. Stuff. XP Possibly "limited natural resources". That rulers should be killed off before they go mad (and bipolar..), as opposed to following orders regardless of the mental state of the ruler. Greed is bad. Revenge is bad. Wizard's third rule: Passion Rules Reason. (Villager's revenge)

By the way, the list of Wizard's Rules:
