World of Warcraft Open Beta
To distribute large files, such as the World of Warcraft Beta, Blizzard utilizes the Blizzard Downloader, which is a software utility that will make use of the 'upload' capability of your computer to distribute the Beta to other individuals who are also downloading the files from Blizzard.

The Blizzard Downloader, which is similar to the idea behind BitTorrent. Mmmm... theft? (Probably not, but in a way, it irks me.)

...THEY ARE USING BITTORRENT! ::mutters:: give credit when it's due, jeeze...

Hm, yeah, see, I didn't see that... they should have just called it bittorrent... "You'll be downloading World of Warcraft using our custom-made bittorrent client designed specifically for downloading World of Warcraft."

...yeah, I suppose throwing in the word "bittorrent" may confuse some people... but it wouldn't hurt that much.
