It was addressed to my full name.

On the back of the postcard was the following note:

Dear Benjamin

We are trying to reach you with Good News! It is real important that you Call Toll free 1-888-279-9221

Call 10am to 8pm EST
Monday thru Friday

So I was curious, and hit google and came up with this. Quite interesting.

And I was bored, so I called the number. A woman picked up, and rambled about getting a card in the mail. So I asked for a large pizza, with peperonni and sausage. And then I asked her if this was dominos (which it isn't). But she said yes. And then asked if I wanted extra cheese. To which I couldn't resist cracking up... hopefully I hung up before she heard me laughing.

I would've stayed on the line and made sure she delivered the pizza...

eh, I thought about it, but then I realized that I didn't really want to give out my address.... That, and I suck when it comes to lying on the spot.

I got that too

It's November, and I got one too. Thanks for the info; I googled the address and found this on your livejournal. Amusing response :-D. Maybe I'll try something too. I'm thinking of faking an accent of some sort.

No pizza for me :-(

My wife got this card in the mail yesterday from "Maggie" at "IRL", with the 9221 number and smiley face. I called the number just now and I believe a black lady answered. Although she identified herself as being from the IRL sweepstakes, I went ahead and ordered the same pizza, but she asked me who I was trying to call. Apparently, it wasn't Domino's, but I went on to request delivery and ask how much it was going to be. She said, "You have the wrong number," but I thanked her anyway and hung up. These people deserve to be annoyed at least as much as they annoy us. No pizza for me, but at least I know what the good news is. :P Thanks!

Re: this is funny do this next time u get junk mail

Can anyone say Mail Fraud?! That's a federal offense you don't want to deal with - simply toss the card... I got one today in "Southern California." Been doing some basic google searches and came up with this site: http://scamerica.org/latest-threats/direct-mail/we-are-trying-to-reach-you-with-good-news.php Looks like the same characters. Good luck fighting the good fight all! PS - Since this company is hocking magazine subscriptions, I wonder if someone is selling their customer info? Possibly Wired?
