It's also very, very light. I'm going to lose the bastard.
I got it for $13~ which brings me to my question to you guys:
What movies should rent?
$10 of the $13 went towards a Blockbuster Online subscription - so I have about 15 days remaining in my month to rent a lot of movies (3 at a time + 3 free in-store rentals when you return the online rentals at the store). I've gone through 12 + 12 movies already. No, I have not watched most of them - they're all saved on media to enjoy slowly.
Have a few small gifts that I picked up in Taiwan.. haven't exactly decided who gets what though.
Taiwan was... short but rather efficient, in terms of time usage, which I liked. And the weather was just right, a bit on the cold side for a t-shirt and jeans. Saw grandparents. Saw relatives. Had good cake and lots of food. Too much food, sometimes. Taiwan's convenient, but... I dunno. Noisy. But decent for people watching, since there's so much... people. But the environment sucks - too many automobiles, factories, pollution... My mom's randomly pushing for me to get an internship there, since we have a relative who holds a high position in the Tech "area" of Taiwan... I honestly don't think my chinese is good enough - My speaking ability is still limited, and I definitely can't read/write anymore. Despite the fact that most important things have English on them anyways...
A quick review of the iPod Shuffle:
Overall, I like it. Especially for the price I paid for it.
The things I wish the iPod Shuffle had:
-A slightly larger dock that allowed me to charge and listen to it at the same time. There is only one "communication" jack on the shuffle and it serves as both the headphone port as well as the charger/USB-computer connection. Ingenious design, if you ask me, but yeah...
-No LED that shows that the Shuffle is actually on and playing. Still, it saves power, since there's LEDs on both sides (good call, Apple).
-(This is more of a wish) If the wheel could be rotates depending on gravity... so up is always the volume up button, and left is always previous, right is always next, etc, that would ROCK SO MUCH~ 'cause it's so small, sometimes it's hard to tell which way I have it clipped on me. ^^;;
-Ratings. Ratings up/down would be spiffy. But it'd mean extra buttons. Or modifications to, say, the volume buttons. (at the moment, I'm just going to rely on the skip counts and hope I can match songs in reverse.)
The things that I love about it.
-So small. So light.
-LED Lights on both sides (top and bottom)
-Nice toggle switches.
-Ability to tell iTunes to convert songs to 128kb AAC before putting them on the Shuffle. Slows it down, but mmm, it fit all of my 4+ star songs onto the Shuffle, with room to spare (compressing 1.2 GB down to 700 MB, more or less)
-Automagically kicks into Pause if the headphone jack is pulled out.
